Common questions
Yes — that is most first calls. We will come out, look at the site, and tell you honestly what that budget buys. If it does not stretch to what you have in mind, you will hear that on the first visit rather than after you have spent money on drawings.
Not necessarily. For a straightforward extension or renovation we can work from a building designer's plans, and we can recommend people we work with regularly. For a custom home or anything on a difficult site, an architect usually pays for themselves — we will tell you which situation you are in.
If you want one company to price and build the whole thing, that is a renovation or new build contract. If you already have a designer, consultants and possibly some trades you want kept, and you just need someone to run it properly, that is project management. The second is usually cheaper on paper and more work for you.
Five to ten working days from the site visit for most residential work, depending on how many trade prices we need back. Commercial fit-outs are usually similar. If it is going to take longer than that, we tell you when we leave the site.
No. The site visit and the fixed-price quote are free. We only charge for preliminary work if you ask us to do something beyond quoting — a detailed feasibility study or design work, for instance — and we agree that in writing first.
